The show is based on the popular “Bridgerton” book series, written by Julia Quinn, that revolves around two families during “the season,” an annual period where elite families would host formal events to introduce their children to society and find them a suitable marriage. The show takes a color-conscious approach to casting: Unlike many period dramas and romance stories, characters of color can be found in nearly every scene.
Modern Family is an American TV comedy series revolving around three families interrelated through Jay Pritchett, his son Mitchell Pritchett, and his daughter Claire Dunphy. One of the young doctors and the show’s namesake, Meredith Grey, is the daughter of a famous surgeon. Grey struggles to maintain relationships with her colleagues, particularly the hospital’s one-time chief of surgery, Richard Webber, due to a pre-existing relationship between them - Webber and Meredith’s mother had a personal relationship when Meredith was young.
